Yesterday, I had the privilege of being part of a thought-provoking roundtable discussion with the incoming Google Developer Group On Campus (GDG On Campus) at BOUESTI, GDSC BOUESTI.
While I could mention being the only female speaker on the call, that’s just one of the highlights 🫠.
The conversation took me down memory lane, reflecting on my own time serving under the GDG On Campus program (formerly GDSC). We shared what worked for us, what didn’t, the lessons we wish we had known back then, and the strategies we implemented. It was a beautiful moment of knowledge exchange.
I emphasized the importance of exploration—embracing trial and error as part of the learning process. Personal branding was another key topic, where we discussed how essential it is to build your own skills while also organizing boot camps and mentorship programs to help others grow. We dug deep into the beauty of networking, highlighting how powerful it can be when you nurture those connections in and out of the community.
Teamwork was another big takeaway—recognizing that each person in the group plays a vital role in the success of the whole. Managing time efficiently and the art of organizing events were also major focal points, especially in the tech community where these skills are often put to the test.
I truly had a fantastic time on the call, sharing these insights and connecting with fellow leaders who are eager to make their mark. The energy and enthusiasm from the next generation of tech minds left me inspired. It’s a reminder that with curiosity, collaboration, and persistence, there’s no limit to what we can achieve.
Looking forward to seeing all the amazing things this community will accomplish!
